Three fire incidents reported in Kishtwar due to crackers, major tragedy averted

Kishtwar Oct 31: In a tragic fire incident due to landing of fire crackers on the roof top of the house in village Panditgam of Kishtwar District as a result of which a residential house suffered massive damages, but timely action of Kishtwar police and fire services department averted a major tragedy.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the fire broke out in the house of one Babu Ram in village Panditgam at around 8.10 PM after a fire cracker landed on the roof top as a result of which dry woods catch fire which later turned into huge inferno.
As soon as the police got the information about the incident, police team immediately rushed to the spot along with the team of fire tender serviceman and stated rescue operation.
"The fire on house soon engulfed the whole roof top due to the cattle fodder kept on the roof of the house started burning thus threatening the surrounding houses, but the timely action of Dy SP HQ Kishtwar Touseef Rishu and SHO P/S Kishtwar Sameer Jeelani alongwith their team averted the tragedy at Panditgam Kishtwar village," reports said.
Later locals also joined the police officials in fire fighting operation, they said adding, "Dy SP HQ Kishtwar Touseef Rishu received some injuries in his hand while supervising the fire fighting.
"After two hour hectic efforts, the fire was brought under control, reports said.
Meanwhile two other minor incident of fire was also reported in the District when last reports came in. Among the two fire incidents, first one was reported from Forest office complex Kishtwar where firewood was kept for distribution among the public accidently caught fire and in similar incident reported from Sangrabata village where heaps of fodder kept on the tree trunks caught fire, but the timely action of police and fire tenders, a major tragedy was averted.
