Kathua, Oct 31: The Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division.
Under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the Excise Team Kathua under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and Excise and Taxation Officer, raided the Barnoti and Sitdyal areas of Kathua district to check the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process more than 450 kilograms of Lahan, 20 pouches of illicit liquor made from Lahan, which is highly injurious to health was recovered by the raiding team which was later destroyed by the team on spot. |
