Yaswant's Habibullah playing dangerous game
Building wall of hatred against India

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 31: Former Chairman of National Commission for Minorities and right hand man of Yaswant Sinha of BJP, Wajahat Habibullah, is playing a dangerous game. He is airing views which are unwarranted, provocative and even seditious. He is trying to mislead the powers-that-be in New Delhi that all Kashmiri Muslims hate Delhi and that if they were to be won over their issues have to be addressed with losing a moment.
"We will…meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and apprise him about the prevailing Kashmir situation…The melancholic atmosphere of Valley made all members of Yaswant Singh-led group of five sad and gloomy.
The pin drop silence, the level of anger and hatred among people towards India narrates a different tale on Kashmir…We all felt sad and after every interaction with people of different shades, we felt the pain and agony of Kashmiri people” he said the other day while reflecting on his recent visit to Kashmir, where he, under the leadership of Sinha, met with various Hurriyat leaders and their supporters and the over ground soft secessionists outfits' leaders.
He didn't stop just there. He further said that the Sinha group would persuade the Prime Minister to take some concrete measures calculated the resolving the Kashmir issue to the satisfaction of Kashmiri Muslims.
"We have to find some ways to get K-issue resolved and I do believe Kashmir will continue to burn till the issue is resolved…We had already talked to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. We will certainly suggest Government of India to take measures toward the resolution of Kashmir. There is a need to heal the wounds of Kashmiri people. They have been facing hardships. The arrest spree, killings, maiming and blinding of people and night raids are the things that really disconnect Kashmir from India…It was high time Government of India focused its attention toward Kashmir resolution," he reportedly said.
He described Kashmir as lava and said it had become imperative to address the issue.
"Kashmir is lava that erupts frequently and a proper way needs to be found to address the issue," he reportedly said.
Besides, Habibullah, who has also served in Jammu & Kashmir for years, gave the people to understand that the Sinha group would prepare a detailed report on their visit to Kashmir and submit the same to the Government of India for consideration. "The delegation has decided to file a detailed report of the visit and submit it to the Home Ministry. The report would be completed in four days time and Sinha would himself head the delegates and present the report before the Home Ministry," he was quoted as saying.
Even a superficial look at what Habibullah reportedly said indicates his utter bias for the Jihadis in Kashmir and against Delhi. He and other members of the group, including Kapil Kak, Sushobha Barve and Bharat Bhushan, didn't find any fault with those who took the law of the land into their own hands and created difficulties for the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti. The team only found fault with New Delhi and the Government, as if they created chaos in the state. They didn't say that Burhan Wani was a terrorist and his liquidation was the need of the time. By not finding fault with the seditionists and stone-throwers, the team established that it's mission Kashmir was not for defending India but helping the defeated seditionists. They only provided oxygen to the dying anti-India movement.
But more than that, the perverted team didn't think is desirable to acknowledge that besides Kashmir, there were two other regions of Jammu and Ladakh whose people also had their own specific grievances and aspirations. They should have noted that Jammu and Ladakh were the two bigger regions of the state and it was necessary that they were also taken on board. The point is that Habibullah's formulations, which are the formulations of Yaswant Sinha-led group, are highly dangerous and these, if considered, would mean some more political concession. And once it happens, not only Kashmir but Jammu and Ladakh will also be completely out of the constitutional organization of India. It is just unacceptable.
People of Jammu and Ladakh can't be ignored. To ignore them would create troubles in the otherwise so far peaceful Jammu and Ladakh. And such an eventuality the nation cannot afford at this point.
