Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 34 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Oct 31: Rajouri police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 34 bovine animals from the clutches of smugglers while smugglers managed to escape leaving vehicles abandoned during a naka checking under jurisdiction of Sunderbani Police. Police spokesman said that as a part of drive against menace of Bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police led by during intervening night of October 30/31, raised a naka checking at ITI Sunderbani. "During naka checking, police seized two trucks bearing registration numbers JK02AS-1257 and HP38C-7349, police spokesperson said, adding, "the smugglers on seeing police abandoned their vehicles and escape from the spot by taking advantage of darkness.' "Police team during search of vehicles found 34 bovine animals which were later rescued while both trucks were seized, police," spokesperson said. In this connection, cases under FIR Nos.71/2016, 72/2016 under section 188 of RPC, 2/3 PCA has been registered at Sunderbani police station. |
