Vijaypur, Dec 7:A large number of Congress workers staged a protest against the former Chief Minister and Senior National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah for his anti-India statements, here today.
Led by Babal Gupta, the activists assembled at Vijaypur Chowk and staged a protest against NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah. Raising slogans against NC leader, the Congress workers sought apology from the former union minister for saying PoK is part of Pakistan. Speakers said Dr Farooq Abdullah is 'deliberately raking up' the issue in order to please the separatists and to disturb the peace in the state. Babal Gupta said when Dr Abdullah was in power he was totally against the ideology of separatists, but now, in the lust of power, he is deliberately giving anti-India statements. He said Abdullah by his statement has acted against the interest of the nation and he must apologise in public for his anti India statement. |
