POONCH, Dec 7: Two cops were today attached with DPL for 'beating' two youth, alleged to be bovine smugglers, at Mendhar yesterday. It was later allegedly found that the two youth had only taken lift in a vehicle of cattle smugglers and were not part of the racket, according to official sources. Sources identified the attached police personnel as SGCT Iliyas Khan and cop Zafar Ahmed. Local staged an anti-police protest, alleging that the two cops were made the scapegoats and someone had beaten them. The victims were admitted to the district hospital, Rajouri.
They have demanded action against the officer who had allegedly beaten the two youth. |
