Jammu, Dec 7: Mocking the law and order, revenue officials in Jammu outskirts are overtly allowing construction on the state land for easy money. According to sources, the officials of the revenue department including Patwari, Girdawar, Naib Tehsildhar and Tehsildhar have openly allowed the construction on land allegedly illegally occupied by an educationist. "An educationist is constructing a structure on an illegally occupied state land," said sources, adding that around 10-12 kanals of state land under two different Khasra numbers has been illegally occupied by an educationist. "The revenue officials to earn easy money had been supporting the educationist to raise structure on the state land," said sources adding that the land falls near an education institution and the educationist in connivance of the revenue officials are mocking the law. Sources said that the revenue officials have allegedly promised to prepare forged document in the favour of educationist, once he completes construction. "Till date the educationist has started work on the compound wall and he is expected to finish the same within weeks," said sources, adding that his next plan is to raise concrete structure on the land, so that he may prepare documents in his favour from concerned revenue officials. If sources are to be believed, the educationist has allegedly struck a deal with revenue officials and paid hefty amount for allowing him to construct on the state land. "One of the above said revenue officials is also facing vigilance probe, but he continues to hold the position owing to his influence," said sources, adding that being on the important position, the revenue official is managing to misuse his powers. |
