Ram Madhav contradicts Modi's Kashmir policy | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 7: BJP' s point person on Jammu and Kashmir, Ram Madhav, is clearly off the mark on the Kashmir policy of the Modi government. Ram Madhav contradicted the statement to the views of the Central government with respect to Hurriyat Conference asking tourist to visit the valley. Ram Madhav said Hurriyat actually wanted terrorists to come to Kashmir and it was spelling 'mistake'. His views were clearly in contradictions to the statement of the union tourism minister Mahesh Sharma, who has welcomed the statement on welcoming the tourists. Mahesh Sharma said that statement of Hurriyat conference was actually in league with the vision of the PM Narendra Modi who wants more tourists to visit the valley and which could in turn change the face of the valley. "Ram Madhav is proving out to more of a liability than a resource person on the Kashmir. He could have used the statement of Hurriyat to spin it in a manner that Modi's policies on the Kashmir are gradually gaining ground and it's because of this that he is forcing Hurriyat Conference to end their agenda of hartals. It could have put more premium on the Modi, this is what the union tourism minister had done. But, like in the past, he clearly doesn't understand the equation and is doing more of disservice than any credible service to the BJP in the state in general and more so Modi in particular," said a senior BJP leader. It was of quite long time that Madhav had come to the state more so after PDP leadership had succeeded in turning the tables on the Hurriyat. The PDP leadership while openly supporting all the moves of the PM Modi even on the Kashmir has quite deftly allowed the situation to come to the point where the semblance of normalcy is being restored. "Madhav on the first hand can't crack the whip on allegations of corruption and inept handling of the state by the BJP ministers. He clearly doesn't read the ground situation and listens to just a few people. His statement reflects how much he is out sync with the ground situation and also policies of the Modi government on this sensitive state. The party's central leadership may have to do much of thinking on continuing with this person as the point man on the state. As, he has already made some moneumental blunder in drafting the agenda-of-alliance." Said the leader quoted, though wishing not to be named. |
