| Provide basic facilities during holy processions of Rabi ul Awal: Locals | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Dec 7: Alleging lack of basic amenities in their locality, the residents of Ward No 1 and 3 of Poonch town in border district, staged a protest and have demanded adequate arrangements of smooth supply of water and electricity in the localities during holy processions of Rabi ul Awal.
Led jointly by Javid Iqbal Reshi, the Chairman Insaaf Movement and Parwaiz Malik the President Sunni Youth Poonch a large number of locals staged demonstration at Fawara Garden Poonch.
Protestors alleged that people of Chaktroo, Fatehpur, Nangali, Mendhar and many other rural areas have been totally ignored by the PHE and PDD departments.
They also alleged that Power Development Department too has failed to procure regular supply of power to the people of these localities of this border district. Speakers on the occasion expressed gratitude towards those including Poonch Police for providing light for holy processions. Besides this protest Imtiaz Samaria and Nishu Gupta also held a protest at main bazaar against power and health engineering departments.
They also appealed to Deputy Commissioner Poonch Mohammed Harun Malik to intervene into the matter and solve the public issues and also appealed him to direct authorities to provide facilities during the holy processions of Rabi ul Awal. |
