KV Kishtwar wins girls Kabaddi match, Matta lifts men's final | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Dec 19: In order to give boost to the Indian origin sports and to promote sports among the girls, Kishtwar based 8 RR today organized a Kabaddi tournament "Kishtwar Kabaddi league 2016" at Chowghan ground Kishtwar in which 18 teams including two teams of girls, beside 12 locals men's and 4 non local teams from far flung areas participated. The only girl’s match was played between Kendriya Vidyala Kishtwar and KV Mughal Maidan which was one by KV Kishtwar by the margin of 20 points (24-4). Earlier Brigadier 9 sector RR Kishtwar Ashist Bajpayee interacted with the players of both the teams and encourage the girls towards sports. Mughal Maidan is one of the most backward area of Kishtwar District and the spectators hailed the young girls of this backward area for showing courage to participate in the Kabaddi match. The spectators also hailed the role of teachers including Kuldeep Kumar who accompanied these girls and encouraged them for their participation in today's match. Several officials of army, police, administration, social activist grace the occasion by their presence. Kabaddi. The men's final was played between Kishtwar Tigers and Matta, which was won by Matta by the margin of three points in a water tight match. The winner team was awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 15000 and a trophy while runner up team received cash prize of 10000 and a trophy. |
