Early Times Report jammu, Dec 19: Showing disrespect to the nation and sacrifices of their colleagues who died fighting militancy in the Valley, some policemen in Kashmir have been openly uploading emotional stuff on Facebook in support of terrorists, thus inciting people against the country. According to sources, the cyber cell, which claims to be vigilant against anti-national activities using cyber technology, seems to have turned blind eye towards these policemen, who overtly post anti-national stuff. "There is a trend in Kashmir that policemen, especially those stone pelters directly recruited by the government, have been involved in posting anti-national and anti-government messages," said sources. They said the level of posting anti-national stuff could be gauged from the fact that one of the policemen on his Facebook account uploaded picture of the recently killed terrorist-Basit and termed him 'martyr'. "Not only this, he followed the streak of comments, cursing Indian army and government for killing innocents," said sources, quoting from his Facebook page: "Those sitting in New Delhi deliberately kill youth in Kashmir to send message that Kashmiris are terrorists." The sources further said that even the policemen of officer rank express their resentment against government and India, following killing of terrorists. "After surgical strikes in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), there was huge resentment against Indian Army and many policemen in Kashmir with their official accounts, criticized the move, while many challenged the credibility of the attacks," said sources, adding that some even termed PM Modi as 'liar'. If sources are to be believed, the policemen in Kashmir also openly support Pakistan cricket team and cheer for Pakistan instead of Indian team. "An officer of DySP (prob) rank once abused Indian players after defeat of Pakistan team in cricket tournament," said sources, adding that the officer also updated his post on Facebook saying, "Haarega ya jeetayga, dil dil Pakistan rahega. (Loss or win, this heart will bleed for Pakistan)." Meanwhile, sources also pitied the approach of such policemen and termed them traitors. "If they cannot respect the sacrifices of their fellow colleagues, how one expects them to be loyal to this country," said sources. Pertinently, police had registered a case against one Ashok Koul for allegedly spreading false information, but here in case of these anti-national activities cyber cell is in slumber. |
