Unscheduled Power cuts irk the residents of Banihal 12/19/2016 10:53:39 PM Early Times Report Banihal, Dec 19: Unscheduled power cuts in Banihal town and it's adjoining areas are irking the local residents of the area from past one week. Locals alleged that the Power development department has started the curtailment of electric supply in the area during scheduled power supply time. The curtailment time in the town was 7am to 10am in morning and during the day the cut time in past was two hours between 3Pm to 5Pm. They said that since Monday the department started the increase in curtailment by one hour etc from 3pm to 6pm during evening hours the curtailment has also started in the town since past some days. Locals said that the unscheduled cuts create hurdles to the consumers, students and journalists to perform their day today duties. They said that the unscheduled cut in the electricity in the area is a routine matter from past one week. They appealed the concerned minister and the higher officers of the PDD to kindly pass the order to stop the unscheduled power cuts in the area so the public can't suffer more. When contacted the officers posted in PDD office Banihal they said that during the winter season the extra consumption of electricity forced them to increase in the curtailment.
