| BJP again exposed to have subsumed with PDP on West Pak Refugees case: Ex Min Pawan | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 23: Alleging BJP for changing colours for the lust of power, former minister and MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta today said that BJP has again exposed it to have surrendered before the PDP to promote the agenda of separatists, while denying the citizenship rights to West Pakistani Refugees.
He said despite their domicile in J&K for the last seven decades, the BJP has betrayed them with hollow slogans of their permanent residential rights.
In a press statement issued here today, former minister Pawan Gupta said it may be stated that earlier also the BJP had aligned with PDP to scuttle the establishment of Kashmiri Pundits and Sainik Colony in Kashmir during the last budget session at Srinagar. "Now the BJP again under the pressure of separatist forces and at the dictates of PDP has taken a U-turn despite its announcement of issuing domicile certificates to the West Pakistan refugees to ridiculously reducing the same to merely issuance of I-Cards thus depriving them any chance of their livelihood by denying the same in seeking Central Govt. Jobs, he said.
MLA Udhampur Mr Gupta stated that the conspiracy to dislodge the West Pakistan refugees was hatched by the PDP with active connivance of BJP in introduction of draconian and illegal Land Law Amendment Bill i.e. amendment to Transfer of Property Act as well as Land Alienation Act only to please secessionist forces in Kashmir the sword of which is still is hanging over the head.
Mentioning Supreme Court's direction in Bachan Lal Kalgotra's case directing the State Govt to make constructive deliberations on the West-Pakistani Refugee's rights of permanent residence in J&K by introducing Bill in J&K Legislative Assembly, he said the BJP has miserably failed even after coming of BJP to power to both at Centre and State.
He further stated Supreme Court in SARFAESI Act's stated the parliament and the Constitution of India is Supreme and the State Constitution of State is subservient to it thus it is high time for the people of J&K to honour the verdict of the Apex Court.
He also said it is ironical that there is a systematic attempt from the Govt. to settle Myanmar, Bangladesh and Pakistani foreign nationals in Jammu and an attempt to force WP refugees out of the State.
Now it is for the Pradesh BJP to come clean its stands on the statement of the PDP its collation partner on issue of domicile certificate, otherwise, this will add to one more act of betrayal of BJP for cheating massive mandate of Jammu region. |
