Main supply tank accumulates 10 feet silt, PHE unmoved Erratic water supply at BJP's stronghold 12/23/2016 11:22:20 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 23: Despite being the stronghold of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), the residents of Ploura area of Jammu have been facing huge hardship of due to erratic water supply by Public Health Engineering Department and the BJP leadership has kept criminal silence over the plight of people of the area. Sources told Early Times that the failure of the PHE Department for not up keeping the water supply system in the area has led to the water scarcity which is aggravating the situation with each passing day but the power greedy BJP is so engrossed in the making fortune that it has totally forgotten the problems of the common people who voted them to power and utterly failed to the provide even the basic amenity like water. They further said that PHE water supply to the area is supplied from the Lohar tank at Manda which has the capacity of storage of approximately 22.5 lakh litters and the The water supply to the tank comes from Shitli filtration plant at Jagti but due to non maintenance of the water storage tank, the supply remained affected.. "The storage tank at Manda, which cater the entire area of the Ploura has not been cleaned for years together thereby 10 feet of slit has accumulated in it, which has reduced the capacity of storage tank and ultimately affecting the supply system," they said further adding that despite repeated complaints to the concerned authority for the redressal yet nothing has been done so far. They further said that moreover the supply pipeline laid towards the area is leaked at many places and water remain continue to flow on the road which has not been fixed by department despite number of complaints. Pertinently the issue of erratic water supply by the PHE has already been highlighted in September edition of the newspaper but lackadaisical attitude to the department and cryptic silence of the BJP leaders has made the life the people miserable who are forced to purchase water through private and Department tanker.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
