PDP leader takes on Health Minister | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report Kishtwar, Dec 23: The differences between the coalition partners Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have put the question mark over the coordination between them and have exposed the rot. On one hand the former Works Minister and senior PDP leader Altaf Bukhari trained guns at his own government for failing to expedite the dredging work of river Jehlum in Srinagar, on the other hand Youth President from Kishtwar accused Health Minister Bali Baghat of "selective and community" based transfers in the Health department. The PDP youth leader Wasil Doolwal alleged that due to callous attitude of the BJP Minister the employees of health department are feeling harassed and if the "arrogant minister" and his officials don't mend their ways it could have far reaching consequences. The PDP Youth President said, "The Health Minister has turned deaf ear to the repeated pleas of the poor employees posted in Kishtwar district." He alleged that at the pretext of "In the interest of administration", particular employees are being transferred to far flung areas, purely on community basis. He also alleged that "minister and his henchmen" are running transfer industry instead of providing upgraded facilities to the people of Kishtwar as the premier District Hospital Kishtwar has got reduced to merely a referral hospital due to non availability of the doctors and para medical staff. Alleging acute shortage of doctors and paramedical staff, PDP (Y) leader said that only male staff has been posted at gynae Operation Theater at District Hospital Kishtwar despite the fact that the rules clearly stated that one female Nursing Orderly should remain present while the females were undergoing operations. The youth PDP leader further stated that youth wing Kishtwar shall take up the matter with Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Party State Youth President and would brief them about the Minister's unilateral decision against the employees of particular community. He said that several doctors posted in Kishtwar district in past have failed to join their duties sadly enough the department and the minister both have failed to initiate any action against such erring doctors instead the minister and his men are busy running the transfer industry in the department. PDP (Y) leader also warned of protest if minister didn't stop harassing employees. |
