Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 23: Continuing its drive against drug and narcotics smugglers, the police today arrested a narcotics peddler along with 150 gms of Heroin during a naka checking. Police spokesman said that police party headed by Inspector Bhushan Manhas, SHO PS RS Pura under the close supervision of Surinder Choudhary SDPO RS Pura and SP HQ Romesh Kotwal during routine patrolling at village Agra Chak found one vehicle Mohindra TUV 300 bearing Registration number PB08BJ6945 parked on road side with one occupant whose identity has been ascertained as Yudhveer Singh alias Bablu son of Aya Singh of old Agra Chak. "On seeing the patrolling party approached the vehicle, the occupant in the vehicle managed to flee from the spot taking advantage of darkness after leaving his vehicle, police spokesperson said, adding, "on proper search of the vehicle, police recovered one polythene packet in which 150 grams Heroin like substance was recovered. "In this connection a case under FIR No 192/16 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act registered against the above mentioned accused, police said. Police spokesperson said that the said accused -Yudhvir Singh is a notorious criminal and history sheeter of RS Pura and is involved in about one dozen heinous cases in different police stations of Jammu District like attempt to murder, extortion, burglary and Arms Act. |
