Samba, Dec 23: Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid in district Samba with the arrest of two bovine smugglers and rescuing around 24 bovine animals during a naka checking at under the jurisdiction of Police Post Mansar.
"The accused have been identified namely as Mohd Anief of Kana Chack Jammu and Mohd Saad of Sunderbani, Rajouri, police sources said. According to police sources, police team headed by SI Imran Khan I/c Police Post Mansar intercepted a truck (JK02AB-6058) on its way from Samba to Srinagar. "During Checking 24 bovine animals loaded in inhumane conditions in the truck, sources said. Police arrested a truck driver and conductor on the spot.
