12/23/2016 11:44:17 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 23: Continuing the protest demonstration for 10th consecutive day of their ongoing token strike in support of their long pending issues, the Non Teaching employees held a strong display of their strength to the University authorities by taking out a rally on the campus and warned to further intensify the struggle if their legitimate demands are not fulfilled at the earliest.
During the demonstration, the employees under the banner of Jammu University Non Teaching Employees Union, raised slogans in support of their demands and appealed the Vice-Chancellor not to be misled by his officers.
As scheduled, the agitating employees took out a protest march on the campus and then staged a dharna in front of VC office.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted the demands, which included creation of Posts, fully computerization of Administration and Accounts sections, re-designation of technical and isolated categories, removal of pay anomalies etc. They alleged that some negative elements in the JU administration were misleading the Vice-Chancellor over their genuine demands and thus creating trouble on the campus for their vested interests.
They reiterating their demands also highlighted many other issues which are the pre-requisition for better working conditions in the University of Jammu. They alleged that the dilly dallying attitude of the University authorities forced the Non Teaching Employees to follow the agitation path which is neither in the interest of Employee nor in the interest of the University. They further elaborated that the Non Teaching Union has given enormous time to fulfil their demands but the authorities' remains deaf to ears. "Sufficient time has been given to the authorities by the Executive Body and hence there is no question of suspending the strike untills our long pending demands are conceded," they added.
The demonstration was addressed by Pawan Singh, Ashwani Bakshi, Sham Sharma, Vikas Langer, Sanjeev Chadha, Abhinav Sharma. Padam Shri Padamani, Niranjan Singh Charak, Joginder Singh Chib, Kewal Kumar, Sunita Amla, Jarnail Singh Jasjeet Singh, Rampaul, Anil Dubey, and Parvesh Ratta.
Similar protest demonstrations were held by the Non-Teaching employees at offsite campus of the Jammu University.
