3-day Science Awareness Mela concludes 6/2/2015 11:13:17 PM Early Times Report Kishtwar, Jun 2: The ongoing three day science awareness Mela organized by National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS) Jammu at Government Higher Secondary School Kilhotran concluded here today. The mela witnessed an overwhelming response from the students and teachers from various schools in the area. The valedictory function was presided over by Basharat Hussain I/C Principal HSS Kilhotran whereas Major Rizwan of 26 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Zafferuallah Khan Secretary NCURDS attended the guests of honor. During the program various resource persons performed science activities followed by a colorful cultural programme by the students. During the three day program Mala enthralled the students with the help of Puppetry whereas Neha, Rohini and Ashish were the resource persons who spoke on Food Adulteration, Science behind Miracles and Nature Study. Dr Ashiq Hussain cleared concepts of Chemistry while performing some Fun chemistry experiments whereas Arshad Hussain helped the students with concepts in physics. Javed and Vikas of Pune Maharashtra performed some simple tasks for understanding great concepts in Science to the students. Earlier Basharat Hussain (I/C Principal) and Major Rizwan of 26 RR while addressing the gathering highlighted the need of organizing Science Awareness Mela and lauded the works of NCURDS in this regard and extended full help for organizing such type of programs in the area in future. Meanwhile in senior category GHSS Kilhotran got first Position in quiz competition followed by HS Bhudhli and GHSS Gowari declared second and third respectively. In Junior Quiz HS Batara, Gayasia Model School and HS Inhararah secured top three ranks respectively. In Symposium Asif Ali of GHS Dhadkaie, Amir Suhail of GHSS Kilhotran and Shubham Singh of HS Chanti were adjudged as firth three winners (Senior group) whereas in junior group Lutfullah Mir of GHSS Gowri, Versha Devi of HS Batara were adjudged as first and second while third prize was jointly awarded to Ulfat Nissar of Gayasiya Model School and Faisal Ishaq of MS Meethanchi. In Model Exhibition GHSS Gowari, Gayasia Model School and GHSS Gondoh were declared three top rankers respectively. Mehar Ara, Rohit Kumar, Lutufullah Altaf Mir got top three positions in Painting competition of Junior Group whereas in senior group Ajay Kumar, Saqlain Ayoub and Azhar Jhan got first three positions respectively.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
