Border residents protest against Pakistan for unprovoked firing | | | Arun Trisal Early Times Report
Kathua, June 2: As the Pakistan once again has resorted to unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers along international border and Army along Line of Control (LoC), the people of village Bobiya in Hiranagar who suffered the brunt of recent ceasefire violations today staged protest against Pakistan and demanded equal response from the India so as to discourage the Pak activities. Led by Sarpanch Bushan Kumar and Naib Sarpanch Tirath Ram protestors raising slogans against Pakistan's Prime Minister said that Pakistan is not reliable and a 'trusted neighbour'. The protesters also said that the situation in Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir is 'critical' and the needs of hour is retaliate with strong action against Pakistan for its repeated attempts of cross border firing bids.. Naib Sarpanch Tirath Ram said irony of the fact is despite the honest and committed efforts to extend friendly hand to Pakistan by newly elected Prime Minister Nariendera Modi, it seems Pakistan is not in a mood of 'trustworthy handshake' with India. "The Centre Government especially needs to understand that, it is the poor people of border hamlets paying the price for weak policies of the leadership," he said. Highlighting the problems of the border residents demanded that the state government should establish camps in border areas and accommodate those who affect due to regular firing by Pakistan. Apart from this they reiterated government should provide with 5-marlas plots at safe place as announced by the Central Government. Villagers also complained that they failed to cultivate their fields as due to frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan during last year and demanded from state government to compensate them for loss of the crops. They also said that they area living under fear and insecurity as it is apprehended that a shell fired by the Pakistan might anytime land on our house at the same time the education of the school children is also affected due to time to time ceasefire violations. |
