BJP abdicates Kashmir, says KPs are K Muslims' concern | Jitendra disappoints patriots | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 2: MoS in the PMO Jitendra Singh on May 31 not only misled the people of Jammu province by hiding the truth about Article 370, but also disappointed the Kashmiri Pandit (KP) refugees. The KPs were looking forward to a dispensation at the centre that would recognize their woes, appreciate the circumstances which forced the miniscule minority to quit their homes and hearths in the valley more than two decades ago and concede their decades old demand seeking a separate homeland for them in the valley invested with union territory status so that they could lead a safe, secured and dignified life in their ancient land of Vitasta. But Jitenra Singh belied all of their hopes by making a highly irresponsible statement on the return issue. Reflecting on the return issue, Jitendra Singh said, "they have also assured us that they also favour the return of KPs". Underline this atrocious line as it exposed the BJP-led NDA government at the centre. His statement established that it was not Delhi which was in command, but it was "they" (in this case the Kashmiri Muslim leadership), who were in command. Jitendra Singh virtually conceded that the central government had no say in the valley and that the real masters in Kashmir were "they". It is disgusting that the nation is in the hands of those who have been insulting it on a daily basis. It has, it appears, given full authority to the communal and separatist leadership in Kashmir to take a final call on the issue. It is important to note that during the past four weeks or so, the BJP has changed its stand on the issue at least three times to keep the separatists and "mainstream" political parties in the valley in a good humour. This was the BJP the people across the nation voted for. Fortunately, however, the people have realized their mistake and started lashing at it. |
