Jammu, June 2: To the utter discomposure and embarrassment to Dy. Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, his own party workers are felicitating an officer on assuming a posting which was vehemently objected by him. According to sources, General Secretary Jammu District of Youth wing of the BJP along with other workers felicitated newly appointed Additional Deputy Commissioner Kapil Sharma on his joining, after Dy CM had taken strong exception to his posting. "Following the apparent tug of war between DyCM and Chief Secretary-Iqbal Khandey, the former some days back had withheld the transfers and postings of some key posts, but latter using his official position and veto powers did the reciprocal and ordered transfers," said sources, adding that soon after the transfers, the Dy CM ordered not to relieve the officer transferred and instructed concerned department not to accept his joining. "Meanwhile, the transferred officer was timely relieved from the office and eventually he joined the other department, demeaning the orders of the Dy CM," said sources, adding that moreover, the young brigade of the BJP was there to felicitate the officer in his new office, which was even more disappointing for the senior leader-Dr Nirmal Singh. If sources are to be believed this stand of youth wing against senior leader makes it evident that somebody is hatching conspiracy to undermine the dignity of the DyCM. "It is clear that someone from within the party has been encouraging such anti-DyCM activities, otherwise there would have been no question of felicitating any officer by the young leaders of the party without consent of senior leaders," sources maintained and asserted that disregarding of DyCM's direction by the bureaucrats shows that they are enjoying patronage of some other BJP leaders, who are inclined against Dr Nirmal Singh. Pertinently, the Deputy Chief Minister, through his OSD, had written a letter to Commissioner JMC not to relieve Kapil Sharma. Copy of the letter was also sent to the Deputy Commissioner Jammu, apparently asking him not to allow Sharma to join his new posting. But despite letters of Deputy Chief Minister, Kapil Sharma has taken his charge as ADC Jammu which is clear indication that Government has not taken any serious note of the anger shown by the Deputy Chief Minister against shifting of the officer. Kapil Sharma, KAS officer, was transferred on May 29 from the post of Joint Commissioner JMC and was posted as ADC Jammu. The Deputy Chief Minister, who holds the portfolio of Housing and Urban Development, was not informed when Kapil Sharma was transferred. |
