Jammu, June 2: In a Public Interest Litigation filed by a renowned RTI Activists Blavinder Singh to remove the encroachments in the public parks in the whole of the Jammu city and the state of J&K, made by the security personnel's/ police guards of various VIP's /VVIP's, by getting the tents of the police guards deputed with them in the public parks and a portion of which parks is also used as an open urinal/toilet, A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal after hearing Sr. Adv Sunil Sethi with Adv Paras Gupta issued notices Commissioner/Secretary Housing & Urban Development Department, MD JK Housing Board, Director Floriculture, Principal Secreatry Home, DGP J&K and ADG Security and also directed them to file their response before next date of hearing.
In the PIL, petitioner also seeking direction to respondents to maintain all the parks in the State of J&K properly and to keep all the public parks in good hygienic condition and not to allow any encroachment on any portion of the public parks. --(JNF)
