Two houses burgled; Rs 90000 cash, 16 tola gold stolen | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June2: Burglars appeared to be having a good run in City of Temples as every now and then burglary is reported from different localities of winter capital of state including the outskirts and in recent incident miscreants targeted two residential apartments in Nanak Nagar and Nagrota area of the Jammu region. Police sources said, "Some burglars barged into two houses last night and decamped with Rs 90,000 cash and approximately 16 tolas of gold ornaments in two separate incidents reported from Nanak Nagar and Nagrota area. "Last night burglars barged into the house of Veena Devi wife of Karan Singh of Sector 3 in Nanak Nagar and decamped with gold ornaments weighing 7 tolas and Rs 35,000 cash, sources said. They said meanwhile, burglars also targeted another house in Nagrota area and escaped with gold ornaments weighing 9 tolas and Rs 55,000 cash. Police sources said that one Arun Dev Singh reported the Nagrota police that burglars barged into his house at Dhok Waziran and escaped with cash and gold ornaments. They said burglaries took place at the two houses when owners were out of their houses owing to their visits to family occasions. Police have registered cases in two respective incidents and have started investigation while no arrest was made when last reports came in. |
