JKAACL organizes 'Multilingual Mehfil-e- Mushaira'

Kargil ,June 2: The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Kargil Ladakh today organized a District Level Multilingual Mehfil-e- Mushaira and Book release ceremony of Young poet/writer of District Kargil.
According to press release, the titles of the twin books "Khas-i-Skuontse" and Midhat" was written in Purgi/Balti anthology.
The Grand Programme was organized in the seminar Hall of the Academy in which poets belonging to different languages of Kargil District participated and recited their poetry.
On this occasion, nearly 20 poets from different part of Kargil recited their compositions in different languages. Al-Haj Muhammad Hanifa Jan, Chairman/ Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC, Kargil, was the chief guest, while as Al-Haj Kacho Hassan Khan, Deputy Commissioner/ CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, was the Guest of Honor.
Speaking on the occasion, Al-Haj Muhammad Hanifa Jan lauded the efforts of the Academy in organizing such programme from time to time. He termed the poets as the eyes of the society who can play a great role in eradicating the social evils by virtue of the persuasive power of their poetry. He also lauded their untiring efforts for taking keen interest in the realm of poetry that has no apparent benefits in terms of money. He also urged upon the Special Officer for Culture-G1/Deputy Secretary, Cultural Academy Kargil to organize such literary programmes at different places so as to disseminate the poetic tradition and message to wider audiences.
Al-Haj Kacho Hassan Khan, Deputy Commissioner/CEO said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that the land of Kargil has a good number of poets in such a small magnitude of population as compared to other places.
While welcoming the gathering, Nazir Hussain, Special Officer for Culture-G1/Deputy Secretary of the Academy extolled the writer fraternity saying that their contribution in the literacy field is commendable and has been instrumental to make the healthy society.
The poets who recited their poetry on the occasion include Al-Haj Abdul Hameed Tanveer, Al-Haj Muhhamad Baqir Baqir, Al-Haj Sadiq Ali Sadiq, Tsewang Namgyal Yarkum, Akhoone Asgar Ali Basharat, Ghulam Ahmad Jawan, Akhone Safdar Ali Safdar, Akbar Ali Shaheen, Muhammad Asgar Aasivi, Imdad Hussain Imdad, Al-Haj Ghulam Murtaza Advocate Murtaza, Muhammad Asharaf Saagar, Aga Syed Murtaza Syed, Ghulam Qadir Zaki, Muhammad Jawad Aminee Jalib, Muhammad Hussain Fayaz, Muhammad Raza Amjad, Tsewang Rigzin Rigzin, Ali Khan Sabeel, Naseer-ud-Din Khafi.
