Jammu, June 2: All India Students Federation (AISF) staged a protest demonstration and burnt effigy at Jantar Mantar against the arbitrary ban on the APDC, IIT Madras by the Central government.
According to press release, the AISF condemned the undemocratic tendency of the State to systematically curtail and finish off all democratic spaces and voices of dissent.
The APSC was representative of the voices of the marginalized and discriminated sections of the society. The action by the IIT Madras following the diktat of the MHRD to ban the APSC is reflective of the deeply brahmanical majoritarian attitude of the Modi govt.
The AISF stands in protest against this and all other forms of dismantling of the democratic rights, spaces, and voices. We demand that the ban be repealed. The president of both the orgaisations of AISF AIYF, Syed Vali Ullah Khadri and Aftab Allam Khan were addressed the students. |
