Citizen's Forum demands Satellite Township in Patnitop | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 10: Citizen's Forum today welcomed the order by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for seeking to revive the grandeur of the state's age old heritage by turning Palaces and Haveli's into Hotels, cafes, museums and other cultural assets. According to press release the forum said Mufti sayeed has fulfilled our long time cherished desire to have a tourism atmosphere in our state equal to southern states and Rajasthani tourism infrastructure. Rajasthan has even converted and showcased their bowlies( Water wells ) in to a tourist destinations. Citizens Forum president R K Chadha said, "It is a matter of shame that our previous governments and their leaders promoted the development of their areas in repairing their allotted accommodations, again and again, by spending huge money on its renovations. In Jammu they are always repairing lanes and drains and putting their name plates in every gali and Koocha, wherever the space was available." He added, "Though we can not compare our heritage sites with beautiful assets available with other states of Rich Maharajas, still a professional application and modern attempt can transform the neglected sites in to beautiful Buildings by professional architects and designers. We also request the Chief Minister to create way side Bars and Restaurants with excellent fresh rooms, from Lakhanpur to Banihal. One has to use open fields for the call of nature by men and women coming from the rest of the country by roads. We also request that since The Patni Top is going to be bypassed through the Tunnel, in order to make it a tourist destination a Satellite Town ship be created around it with great infrastructure like Mcleodganj in Himachal Pardesh. People from Punjab and even from Jammu prefer to go to Mcleodganj rather than Patni Top." |
