Reports of presence of terrorists: Alert sounded in Doda | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 10: The threat perception of yet another terror attack in the state is again looming large as a group of terrorists was reportedly spotted in remote Padri area of Doda district a few days back. If sources are to be believed then five members of a Gaddi family of Bhallesa village of Doda were held hostage for three days by a group of eight terrorists on the hills of Padri area. Sources further informed Early Times that the family had moved to hills along with their livestock and "the hostage family members told the police that the some of the terrorists who detained them on last Friday were wearing Army uniforms while the others were attired in Salwar-Kameez (Khan Suits)," quoting the family sources said, adding that the terrorists were conversing in Urdu and chaste Punjabi. The family managed to get out of the clutches of the terrorists by using the ploy that their livestock is on the verge of starvation. "The family escaped on Sunday by saying that their animals are starving. With this excuse the family left the spot on the pretext of grazing the livestock. While leaving the family handed over all the ration they were having to the terrorists," sources said. Sources further said that the intelligence agencies have been provided with a detailed report regarding the alleged presence of terrorists in Padri area, adding that an alert has also been sounded in neighbouring state of Himachal Pradesh's Chamba whose border is close to Padri area. While the security has been beefed up in Doda and adjoining areas, a police team was dispatched to Padri area to flush out the terrorists, sources said. |
