jAMMU, Aug 10: The Jammu-Srinagar national highway was closed for third consecutive day on Monday, an official said.
As a result, the Amarnath Yatra portion from Jammu to the Kashmir Valley remained suspended for the last three days.
"Rain and landslides blocked the Jammu-Srinagar national highway at Kheri in Udhampur district today (Monday)," a senior official of the state traffic department saiid here.
No `yatri` (pilgrim) was allowed to move towards the Valley from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu because of the highway closure, he said. |
