Assess loss due to rains, Noor Hussain urges govt | | | Early Times Report
Vijaypur, Aug 10: Member Legislative Council (MCL) Noor Hussain today said that state government has failed to assess losses caused by rains and flood. He along with members Muslim Welfare Association Samba visited Abdullha Basti, Rakh Fharotia, Vijaypur and held a meeting with the local members of the Gujjar community and enquire about the loss suffered by them due to recent heavy rains and floods. Addressing a meeting organized by Muslim Welfare Association (MWA), MLC said that in-spite of the fact that the heavy rains and floods have caused great loss of property to the inhabitants of this area, the Govt. and Administration failed to assess the loss suffered by these poor persons. The MLC termed the act of the Administration and Govt as total failure on all fronts and particularly for the poor Muslims of Jammu Division. He also stressed upon the government to immediately assess the loss suffered by these people. He appealed the government to pay compensation at the earliest and also demanded that by putting crates on the sides of the water channel, the further loss in future can be stopped and appealed the Govt to sanction and put crates on the bank of the nallah/river immediately to avoid any further mishappening with these poor people. Gathering was also addressed by Mohd. Rafiq, the President of the Muslim Welfare Association Samba and stated that in-fact the Govt is not interested in the development and betterment of the Muslim Community and intentionally the Govt. is ignoring the Muslim populated areas in particularly and further blamed the Govt. that it is very strange that the people of these areas are still lacking facilities of drinking water, electricity The meeting was attended by Mohd. Yagoob Khatana, Chairman of the Association, Shamsher Hakla, Senior Vice-President, Zahid Malik, Vice President, Hakim Din Malik General Secretary, Yousaf Gorsi Cashier. |
