Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 13: Pakistan troops continued firing along the line of Control (LoC) and in afresh ceasefire violation Pakistan troops targeted Indian forward posts for the fourth time in less than 24 hours by resorting to unprovoked firing in Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu sectors.
Sources said that Pakistan troops this early morning started unprovoked firing from 0415 hrs to 0510 hrs in Pallanwala Sector. Prior to this they have fired in this sector from 0100 hrs to 0110 hrs. Defence spokesperson Jammu Lt Col Manish Mehta said, "Pakistan Army is resorting to unprovoked ceasefire violations unabated."
"On the intervening night of August 12/13, the Pakistan troops opened small arms fire in Krishana Ghati (KG) in Poonch, Bhimber Ghali (BG) in Rajouri and Pallanwala of Jammu sector, Col Mehta said.
Defence spokesperson said, "The Intermittent fire that continued for almost an hour at different times in these forward sectors were appropriately retaliated by own troops."
"No damage/casualty reported till last reports came in, he added.
Here it needs to mention that for the last more than one month 841, 641, 655, 651 and 649 Mujahedeen Battalions of Pakistan Regulars from their Nizapur,Dakni Dhok, Ring Countur , Rashid, Topa Gidran , LP Dorian, Copra (OP), Copra (LP) and Copra (main) posts have been targeting Indian forward posts and civil population in Sabzian, Nangi Tekri and Shahpur sectors in Poonch district.
Many civilians including a soldier were injured in the firing from across the border and one soldier namely Rashpal of Punjab regiment was killed in firing across the other side.
For the Mujahedeen Bn from their Copra posts have been targeting army's administrative base camp Gali Madana and its adjoining areas for over a week and one soldier namely Kalu Roy was also injured in this firing.
On Wednesday again 649 Mujahedeen Bn opened unprovoked firing with small arms and using 120/ 82 mm Mortars and the firing continued till late in the evening since 11 am.
Locals have felt that though the Pak firing is being retaliated effectively by the India troops yet Pakistan army needs more effective retaliation from our side to stop their guns.
Meanwhile in order to avoid civil causalities and loss to property in anticipated heavy shelling from across the border reportedly some families living in close vicinity from near the Line of Control have been shifted to Mandi town .
Reliable sources have denied any migration from Soujian but said the families were shifted by taking their security into consideration.
