MLA appreciates works done by BSF | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Aug 13: Border Security Force (BSF) HQs Rajouri to mark its Golden Jubilee Celebration initiated the plantation drive under the supervision of S S Gehlot, DIG BSF at sector HQs and in the border areas in Rajouri and Poonch districts. Qamar Choudhary, MLA and locals have appreciated the said drive describing it as a balance of local ecology. BSF spokesperson said that local MLA, CH Qamar Hussain inaugurated the mass plantation drive at Rajouri in presence of officers, section officers (SOs) and Jawans. Under this drive, BSF planted 7600 saplings of different ornamental and fruit bearing trees in Rajouri and Poonch areas. In his address special invitee Qamar Choudhary, MLA appreciated the works done by the BSF and expressed his willingness to assist in plantation drive initiated by Border Security Force as well as by the students of Kendriya Vidayalaya (K V) under the guidance of the DIG SHQ BSF and in any such drive in the future also. Addressing the gathering S S Gehlot, DIG, BSF emphasized the importance of the tree plantation and its important role to meet our social, economic and environmental objectives. "Keeping in view the present global warming and other natural calamities, plantation of more and more trees can play a important role in restoring productivity, balancing our ecosystem and stabilizing biological diversity" said DIG,BSF. Later DIG, BSF and MLA visited KV situated in the BSF campus and interacted with staff and educated children about the benefits of trees. |
