Srinagar, Aug 17: Pro-Pakistan woman separatist leader and head of her faction, Asiya Andrabi was booked for hoisting Pakistan's flag on Independence Day in Kashmir.
After maintaining silence on the issue for a brief period, police, according to sources, finally registered case under FIR no 84/2015 under Section 13 of Unlawful Activities Act against Asiya, head of Dukhtaran-e-Milat (DeM).
Keeping in view anti national activities of Andrabi during the past few days, police sources said that probably more sections will be invoked against her in coming days.
In a fresh case of her Anti National Activities sources said that Andrabi unfurled Pakistan's flag and sang its national anthem on Independence Day in Soura-Bachpora area of Srinagar city with her associates.
Asiya earlier also stoked a controversy in Jammu and Kashmir by addressing Hafiz Saeed's Rally over phone in Pakistan.
Pertinently Hafiz Saeed who heads Jamat-ud-Dawa in Pakistan is wanted in India for sponsoring Mumbai attacks.
According to sources Asiya in her telephonic address to Hafiz Saeed's rally in on August 14 had greeted the people of Pakistan on their Independence Day and Hafiz Saeed was seen sitting on the stage during Andrabi's telephonic address.
She had earlier celebrated Pakistan's National Day on March 23 this year and also hoisted the flag of Pakistan besides she also sang its national anthem, following which the police had registered a case against her under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
Andrabi also remains in news headlines for boycotting and warning people against celebrating days and events like Valentine's Day and gathering of boys and girls in tourist destinations and Restaurants.
Asiya's Husband, Dr Muhammad Qasim Faktoo is also in Jail from last two decades allegedly for waging war against India and other similar Anti national Cases booked against him.
Andrabi's telephonic address to Hafiz Saeed's rally and Hoisting flag of Pakistan on August 14,2015 in Srinagar had triggered a controversy in Jammu and Kashmir with Bhartiya Janata Party members of Jammu and Kashmir unit and some Congress leaders of the state demanding strict action against her.
Pertinently PDP-BJP Coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir is often criticized in many circles of the society across the country for maintaining soft stand against Anti National Activities of separatists in Kashmir division which includes waving flag of Pakistan in separatist Rallies. |
