Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 17: Is BJP-once being champion of Jammu cause-fearing anger of the people of its own constituency, Jammu region?
Well the answer is yes, if one goes by the sequence of events happened on Independence Day on Saturday here in Jammu and Kashmir State.
While on one side the high profile political dignitaries including J&K Chief Minister and Prime Minister, who are under constant threat of anti-national elements preferred to speak in open air, a BJP leader who is representing entire Jammu region in the State Government as Deputy Chief Minister delivered his maiden speech in Jammu from a Bullet Proof cabin.
Mortally afraid of the people of Jammu region, the senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh on Independence Day seems to have further exposed himself by delivering first ever speech at Parade Ground here in Jammu from a bullet proof podium.
Contrarily the Prime Minister Narender Modi and Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who have been under constant threat, delivered their respective Independence Day addresses without using any sort of Bullet Proof Dais.
The way Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh has delivered his maiden Independence Day address has raised many questions as he is the only politician in the country who had addressed the public from a bullet proof cabin.
Even Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has addressed the nation from an open platform. Same is the case of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who addressed gathering at Bakshi Stadium Srinagar openly.
Pertinent to mention here that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who has also served as Union Minister for Home Affairs and is under Z Plus category security opted to deliver his speech in militancy infested Kashmir valley without much security cover. However, his deputy and senior BJP leader Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh preferred to speak from bullet proof cabin for the reasons known either to him or his the security agencies dealing at Parade Ground, here.
"Both Prime Minister of the country and Chief Minister of the State have more security threat as compared to Deputy Chief Minister but just for status symbol Dr Nirmal Singh preferred to speak from a bullet proof cabin," revealed sources further adding that, "the same has not gone well among the people watching the Independence Day celebrations live as well as on different television channels".
In the Parade Ground function, where Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh was chief guest, people from Jammu city and adjoining localities along with students were present. Does it indicate that Dr Nirmal Singh, who always claimed to represent people of Jammu Province in the PDP-BJP coalition Government, has no faith on people of Jammu. Either he has lost faith of the people of Jammu region or he himself was afraid that on the issue establishment of AIIMS in Jammu, the people of Jammu region are annoyed with him as well as from his party (BJP).
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has faith and trust on his countrymen so he addressed the nation from an open platform and a podium without bullet proof cabin. Furthermore, after concluding his speech from Red Fort at New Delhi, he went down stairs and openly met the school children who were desperate to shake hands and hug Prime Minister Narender Modi.
Similarly in Kashmir valley, the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed too expressed faith on his people so he also addressed openly. Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh seems to have lost faith on his own people, especially native of Jammu city who are staunch supporters of BJP and Jan Sangh.
