Pvt Ambulance owners lock horns with Health Minister | | | Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 17: Outraged at Health Ministry asking the private ambulance owners to park their vehicles outside the Government Medical College (GMC) and hospital premises, the private ambulance owners went on an indefinite strike today to protest against the "new diktat." Pertinently, yesterday, Health Minister had visited GMC hospital for enquiring the condition of border firing victims. Later, the Minister asked the hospital administration to stop private ambulance owners to park their vehicles inside GMC premises, which he said, leads to chaos in the hospital premises. After resections, the Private ambulance owners went on strike and they said that no patient or body was being taking by the private ambulances till, the administration revokes the restriction order. "Due to the tussle between administration and private ambulance owners people are facing immense problems. The GMC has three ambulances, out of which one is out of order and one is kept by administration to ferry staff, so where the patients will go in absence of any private ambulance, "an insider said. He further said that before barring the private ambulances from entering the hospital premises the if Minister should have ensured that there are sufficient number of government ambulances available in the GMC. Despite repeated attempts the Medical Superintendent Dr Ravinder Rattan Paul's could not be contacted. |
