Jammu, August 17: After 25 days of strike, lawyers have decided to resume work in the high court and subordinate courts from tomorrow. The decision to this effect was taken in the general house meeting of J&K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA), Jammu, which was held today under the chairmanship of its president Abhinav Sharma, who is also chairman of AIIMS Coordination Committee (ACC). The decision has been arrived at in view of the latest development as regards the fixation of August 30, 2015 as the last date by the deputy commissioner, Jammu, for identification of 200 acres of land for setting up of AIIMS in Jammu. Thereafter, union health minister J P Nadda also made the statement that two AIIMS had been sanctioned for J&K. This was followed by the statement of party's national vice-president and MP (in charge J&K affairs) that two AIIMS had been sanctioned for the state. Even chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that two AIIMS had been sanctioned for J&K. In view of these developments, the general house decided to resume work in all the Courts from August 18 onwards. The meeting was attended by over 400 lawyers, including JKHCBA office bearers - vice-president Pranav Kohli, general secretary A P Singh, joint secretary Depesh Singh Pawar and treasurer Rahul Sharma. Those who spoke on the occasion included A V Gupta, B S Slathia, K S Johal, young lawyers association president Daljeet Singh Manhas, Ajay Kotwal, Jamil Kazmi, K S Puri, Pawan Dev Singh, Surjeet Singh Andotra, Umesh Sharma and Shristi Pal Mengi.
