Sarpanch Association calls on DC Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Dec 10: Sarpanch Association Kishtwar led by its president Manoj Parihar today called on Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan at his office chamber and showed its concern over delay in distribution of Solar lights were sanctioned two year ago.
As per the details available with "Early Times", Sarpanch Association rued the delay in distribution of Solar Lights among the poor people of far flung areas of Kishtwar District, added that some officers are creating unnecessary hurdle in distribution of these solar lights and said that any further delay in distribution of these solar lights will put the life of the Solar batteries at risk and will thus become useless. They said that the winter is fast approaching as a result of which a limited time period is left for distribution of these solar lights and incase of any further delay in distribution of these solar lights, the same could be resulted into delay for four to five months due to prevailing snowfall season. They also raised the issue of rent to be given to those where these solar lights were dumped and demanded immediate dumping of these Solar lights at Panchayat levels so that same could be distributed to the beneficiaries after proper verification. The Sarpanch Association also threatens to hold protest in case the administration fails to distribute these solar lights before the onset of snowfall season.
Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar informed the visiting Sarpanch delegation that the matter is being looked into on top priority, added that due to legal entangles the process was hurdle and assured them that administration is keen to distribute these Solar Light among the real beneficiaries after clearing all the legal hurdles. He also assured them that administration is making all its efforts to dump and distribute these solar lights in snow bound areas before the fresh snowfall season. He also sought cooperation from them for smooth and hassle free distribution of these Solar Lights as and when the process for the same will be started.
