| 'Drunken' cop brings disgrace to khaki | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 10: A photograph of a policeman, who had allegedly taken an overdose of liquor, going viral on social media has sent the Jammu and Kashmir Police into tizzy.
In the photograph, the erring cop in uniform is found lying on road in an unconscious condition.
This middle aged cop, identified as Head Constable Kabir Hussain (number 93-IR) is posted in Reasi district.
Eyewitnesses alleged that this cop was heavily drunk and could not control himself. He tried to sit on a slightly raised platform at the Reasi Bus Stand but fell flat and remained there for more than half an hour. Even as some passerby tried to wake him up by sprinkling water on his face, the cop was too drunk to gain consciousness.
The high voltage drama at the crowded bus stand continued till some colleagues of the drunken cop reached at the site and took him along with them.
Even as police tried to hush up the matter, the authorities were later forced to send this drunken cop to hospital for medical examination after his photos in alleged drunken condition went viral on Whatapp group of SSP Reasi, Sujit Kumar.
This is not for the first time that such irresponsible behavior of men in khaki has come to fore and brought disgrace to the law enforcing agency in highly sensitive Jammu and Kashmir, which requires extra alertness in wake of militancy from across the border. |
