| Akhnoor sex scandal: 5 days remand of 5 accused, more arrests on cards | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 10: Police have granted five days remand of five persons who have been arrested in connection with infamous Akhnoor sex scandal case while more arrests are on cards and raids in this connection are on.
Police said that following the statement of the victim, five persons have been arrested so far.
Police identified the arrested as Pawan Kumar alias Pappa S/o Balak Ram of W.No. 10 (readymade garment shopkeeper), Amit Mahajan son of Chaman Lal Gupta of W. No. 7 (utensil shopkeeper), Hardeep Tangotra alias Sahil son of Krishan Lal of Gandharwan, Tehsil Akhnoor and Anil Magotra son of Harminder Lal of Manda (mommos seller) have been arrested so far and the man hunt is going on to nab the other accused people involved in the case while, Gulshan Kumar alias Abhi son of Tarseem Lal of Tahngu Road Old Sabzi Mandi Pathankot has already been arrested who kept the girl in his captivity.
A case under FIR No. 221/2015 under sections 363, 376 and 109 of RPC has been registered at Akhnoor police station in this regard.
Pertinently, the victim minor girl during the course of investigation disclosed that she has been sexually exploited by other many people of Akhnoor town particularly those having business in the main town however, a youth leader, a wine trader, a cloth merchant and a girl are still at large. Police sources said during statements the victim girl who was allegedly kidnapped stated that a girl disclosed her mobile phone number to local businessmen and youth. "She also introduced me with some of the big wigs", stated the victim to police.
The scam was surfaced when Punjab Police sounded alert to the Jammu police alleging high profile names of politicians and bureaucrats of Jammu to be involved in a major sex scandal. During the preliminary investigations, the police have identified scores of reputed persons of the Jammu city.
This minor girl hails from Akhnoor and was caught under suspicious circumstances with a Punjabi youth in Pathankot. During interrogation by Punjab Police, the girl broke down and revealed that she was being exploited by these big names of the State.
During the preliminary investigations, the girl revealed that she was living in Pacca Danga. She told her investigators the story of how she landed in the sex trade and gave the names of people who were responsible for her exploitation.
Though the police is tight-lipped over the names of persons involved but the sources said that the girl has given graphic account of how she was raped repeatedly by at least 20 persons, whom she can identify. |
