JKCTA holds meet, demands rescheduling of exam from JU 12/10/2015 11:15:49 PM Jammu, Dec10 : A meeting of Zonal bodies of College Teachers Association, Jammu was held today under the chairmanship of its President , Dr. Sanjay Verma in order to discuss the burning issues regarding University of Jammu. During discussions, it was observed that the date sheets for semester I and semester III examinations issued by the Jammu University schedules starting of exam. from 8-12-2015 whereby examinations dates have been slotted for Sundays and during winter vacations. They expressed surprise for not taking cognizance of the matter by the Jammu University which was already appraised by the College Teachers Association that since the vacations of the college teachers were curtailed because of examinations, they need to be properly compensated as permissible under the JK Civil Services Leave Rules 1979. They further said that examinations for undergraduates II semester for session 2014-15 were held during summer vacations for which most of the college teachers were deputed for duty, but their duty period has not so far been entered as earned leave. In the meeting, it was resolved by the Association that if the examinations are not rescheduled within a week's time by the University of Jammu, the Association will be forced to take extreme step of boycotting the examination duty during winter vacation and on Sundays   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
