JU VC promoting tainted, incompetent officials; harassing upright persons : JYF 12/10/2015 11:16:26 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 10 : The Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) has lashed the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University (JU), Prof Ramji Dass Sharma condemning him for squarely banking upon framing record numbers of committees during last one year being administratively poor and awfully devoid of sagacity of mind to take right decisions for right purposes himself and running the University on the whims and vagaries of coterie of sycophant officers around him. The JYF President Mohd Akram Ahmed alleged that Vice Chancellor is functioning akin to a dictator and imposing his whims on others saying that he is promoting tainted and incompetent officials and harassing upright persons who refuse to bow before his pressure tactics. There have several instances during the past 14 months, ever since Prof Ramji Dass Sharma took over reins of Jammu University, wherein it has been clearly visible that tainted persons were not only reinstated on their positions but also offered prized postings, he said. "The Vice Chancellor has adopted a unique modus operandi to get his personal preferences/choices to run the University legalized and certified. Under this system, he refers almost all the matters to committees to get favourable outcome. In case of unfavorable recommendations of the committee, the Vice Chancellor frames another committee to overrule the first one," he explained. Probably, Prof Ramji Dass Sharma is a Vic Chancellor who has constituted highest number of committees in a year, he lamented. In this way, the Vice Chancellor was making the stakeholders of the University to follow his diktats which is highly unfortunate, he further said adding that Prof Ramji Dass Sharma alongwith his team of sycophants was exploiting the University and distorting the image and reputation of the Institution. He said that the Vice Chancellor recently convened a meeting of selective civil society members, who are his close friends and acquaintances with the tacit intention to give vent to his frustration accumulated because of his wrong and anti-students policies adopted by him as from such a gathering there is no apprehension of adverse observations. The JYF president alleged that VC and his coterie were acting in a manner as if University was their sole property and no one can ask them any question. The JYF urged the Governor, the Chief Minister and other stakeholders to come forward and foil the nefarious and exploitative designs of the Vice Chancellor so that the sanctity and esteem of the Institution is saved from further deterioration.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
