Kishtwar, Dec 21: Slamming the Power Development Department (PDD) for frequent electricity cuts in Kishtwar District, the Public Awareness Front (PAF) Kishtwar today sought immediate attention of the present government towards the issue. In a press statement issued here today, PAF President Shakir Siddiqui said that the power scenario in district Kishtwar is in bad shape as the prolonged power cuts have made the life of common people miserable, particularly for the students preparing for various examinations. He demanded that completion of double circuit transmission line from Ramban to Kishtwar should be completed at least up to Khalni Doda grid in first phase, that too within next 2/3 months beside also demanded construction of new 220/132/33 KV grid station at Marwah, 33/11 KV receiving station along with 33/11 KV transmission line between Matta and Hatta, Padder/Padyarna and Marwah. He also laid stress on augmentation of receiving station at Malipath Kishtwar constructed in the year 1980. "SE PDD is posted in Kishtwar, but he too has done nothing for augmentation of receiving station and instead of focusing on welfare steps, SE PDD laid stress only on how to accumulate TA and DA from government exchequer," said Shakir Siddiqui. |
