Jammu, Dec 21: Following the 'refusal' of State police headquarters to adjust their 'favourite' Inspectors at the places of their choice, three powerful BJP Ministers are feeling humiliated.
In the transfer list of 70 Inspectors, issued two days back, PHQ had not considered any of the names which were recommended to it by the three BJP Ministers. This injured their 'pride' and 'dignity'.
Fretting and fuming, these Ministers then called up a 'top' cop and expressed their displeasure over the PHQ's act of 'disobeying' them, police sources said.
The top cop 'downplayed' the PHQ act and told the Ministers that their 'favourite' Inspectors would be adjusted in the second transfer list as and when it was released, the sources added.
Two of the BJP Ministers are residents of the same district.
Sources said despite the fact that the power of transfer and appointments lies in the hands of political leadership in J&K, PHQ on Saturday ordered the shifting of 'sycophant' Inspectors, who, against its wishes and with the blessings of some BJP Ministers, were holding 'significant' postings in Jammu.
Of the 70 transferred Inspectors, 17 were posted at different places in Jammu. Most of them were SHOs and had taken over the command of police stations only a few months back. Almost all of them were the favourites of BJP Ministers, the sources added. |
