Like pilgrims service tax, BJP befooling people on Accession Day holiday
12/21/2015 11:26:06 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 21: BJP leadership is appeared to be befooling people of Jammu region by raising the demand of declaring October 26 as official holiday in the Government calendar.
Publically BJP leaders have been raising this demand for the last one year but officially the party leadership has not place this demand before the Government in which BJP is important partner.
Credible sources in the corridors of power revealed that General Administrative Department (GAD) has not received any written representation from any BJP Minister to declare October 26 as gazetted holiday despite the fact that in public forums BJP leaders are raising this demand time and again.
For the last 10 years, BJP and its sister concerns are celebrating October 26 in a big way because on 26 October, 1947, the last Dogra rulers of State, Maharaja Hari Singh, had signed the Instrument of Accession to make Jammu and Kashmir part of Indian Union. The Maharaja signed the Instrument of Accession at Amar Palace in Jammu which the colonial India's last Governor-General, Lord Mountbatten, accepted on October 27, 1947.
Various social, religious and political organisations are exerting pressure on BJP to get October 26 declared as gazetted holiday because the party is now in power.
Credible sources said that instead of seriously taking up this issue, BJP leadership is just playing to the galleries to hoodwink the innocent people of Jammu region. Like service tax on devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi, the BJP leadership is just doing politics on this issue but officially party has not taken any stand.
