PDD official transferred after he fails to oblige PDP Minister | 'Mantri wanted 500 electric poles for his constituency' | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Dec 21: A Power Development Department (PDD) official known for his integrity and honesty was transferred to Power Development Corporation (PDC) after he allegedly failed to oblige a senior PDP Minister. Muneeb Ahmad, Executive Engineer was transferred to USHP 2- Kangan from Electric Division II vide Govt. order No 237_pdd of 2015 dated 16-12-2015. The transfer of official who was transferred to Electric Division II after putting in 4 years of service at Electric Division BIJBEHARA vide Govt order No 171_pdd of 2015 dated 21_8_2015 has dejected many officials in the department as the official's fresh transfer came only after a gap of three months. Talking to Early Times, Muneeb Ahmad revealed that a senior Minister was asking him to manage 500 poles for his constituency which was possible. "A member of Legislative Assembly and Council can use Rs 70 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to improve power infrastructure in his constituency but this Member who is also a Minister wanted me to arrange 500 poles out of turn and without going for the estimation for the same that was impossible for me," he told Early Times. Muneeb Ahmad claimed that refusing to arrange poles for the Minister for his Assembly segment became the reason for his uncalled transfer. "I never worked to appease a particular section or a political group. I submitted the estimates for the same demand which irked the Minister and managed my transfer," he added. Officer said that he was transferred to Power Development Corporation without taking his consent which is legal requirement according to him. "What is my fault? I feel humiliated and want to resign prematurely as others are doing for the same reasons," official texted to Early Times on Whatsapp. He said that at Bijbehara he put in all efforts to give flip to revenue realization and tried best to improve overall power scenario. Chief Engineer wasn't available for a comment as he avoided repeated calls from ET. |
