| Balakote village near LoC lacks communication, road connectivity | | | MS Nazki

POONCH, Dec 21: Balakote village near LoC, a remote place in Mendhar having a population of about 15 thousand souls is lacking both road and communication connectivity in this digital era of the world. Tall claims are being made by the successive central and state governments for long for upliftment of the far flung, backward and hilly areas of the country/state. There are various centrally sponsored schemes for the development of these areas but on ground there is no development in the areas for which they are meant. The hapless, poor and backward people of Balakote village also meet the same fate in the developmental activities. Considering the population, area and backwardness of the area Balakote has been given the Status of Tehsil recently while creating new Administrative units in the state. Perhaps, this is the only administrative unit where authorities themselves feel handicapped in performing their duties for want of these two important connectivity.
For want of mobile/internet facility student community does not get the benefit of internet, Google and other information sources in pursuing their studies, preparing themselves for exams, entrance tests or interviews and undergoing higher studies when they have to compete with the aspirants of cities where all such facilities are available. |
