SAMBA, Dec 21: A team from the Union Health Ministry today inspected the two proposed sites for setting up an All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Samba district. The members including Rakesh Kumar, Joint Secretary from the Union Health Ministry including Sandeep Srivastav, Director, PMSSY, Rajeev Kanaujia, Senior Architect along with Sheetal Nanda, Deputy Commissioner and other district officers visited the proposed sites at Vijaypur and Ghagwal and looked into the possibilities of setting up a premiere institute. Official sources said that the team inspected land in Rakh Barotiayan area of Vijaypur and Sandi village of Ghagwal in Samba district. However, the final location could not be decided. Appropriate authorities will take a final decision for setting up of AIIMS on 200 acres land, based on the report submitted by the team. |
