SAVE, JMC jointly hold anti rabies vaccination camp | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 21: In order to control the spread of rabies, an NGO-SAVE alongwith the Dog Catching team of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) held a vaccination camp to vaccinate both stray and domestic dogs here today in Resham Ghar Colony. The move comes as dog bites continue unabated in the city and rural parts of the district thus keeping the residents always on their toes. The much needed vaccines were sponsored by NGO SAVE which has decided to hold such more camps in different areas of city in every week. According to spokesperson SAVE, it was first vaccination camp for stray and domestic dogs the area from NGO received lots of complaints regarding stray dog problems. Spokesperson said, "Two doctors Dr Vikas Mangotra and Dr Amantaj along with the Dog Catching team of Jammu Municipal Corporation vaccinated and dewormed over 27 dogs including stray dogs . Spokesperson said that some humanitarian residents have adopted stray dogs as pets in their houses which also were vaccinated free of cost. "Residents of that locality have appreciated joint imitative of NGO alongwith Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). |
