| Road under PMGSY remains in dilapidated condition, authorities unmoved | | |  Ashwani Sharma

UDHAMPUR, Dec 21: The work on road connecting Gordi with Marada Mata in Udhampur which was taken up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) ten years ago has failed to even complete the earthwork till date. Sanjeet advocate president of Jan Sangarsh told Early Times that the work on the road was started ten years back but the department has able to construct only six kms of road length on earth working and after that work was stopped adding that the constructed six km of road has also washed away due to heavy rainfall.
He further informed that that the total distance of this road is around 23kms due to heavy rain fall. Another local Sham Lal said that we have visited the office of PMGSY many times with the plea of addressing the problem of dilapidated road but nothing fruitful emerged yet. "Many times out children spoil their clothes while moving through this muddy road and hence they have to miss their school on several occasions," Raju, one of the locals said.
These people said that if the road is not repaired soon then they will be left with no option than to start an agitation against the authorities concerned.
When contacted on phone, the Executive Engineer PMGSY Ravi Raina didn't pick -up the call.
