Pvt ambulances occupy parking space inside GMCH despite ban on their entry | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 2: Despite a ban on their entry to the GMCH, private ambulances continue to occupy the parking space outside the emergency ward, creating a chaos. As the private ambulances occupy most of the parking space outside the emergency ward, hospital ambulances and other vehicles face inconvenience to pick and drop patients from there. The hospital administration also contributes to this mess created by the private ambulances. It has nowhere put the 'no parking' boards outside the emergency ward. GMCH Medical Superintendent, Dr Ravinder Rattan Pal said the parking of private ambulances "stands prohibited in the premises of the hospital and if any one is found parking his private ambulance in the premises, action will be taken against him". Sources said while the ban on private ambulances was imposed in view of the lack of parking space outside the emergency ward, the hospital administration was yet to implement it strictly. "The private ambulances, which remain parked outside the emergency ward, overcharge the patients. They have developed a nexus with some hospital employees," sources alleged. "Though a number of complaints have been filed against them, concerned authorities have still not taken any action against them," sources said. An attendant alleged that GMCH "present a picture of neglect and total mess. Parking chaos welcomes visitors". |
